第九条- Be the Bridge (Helping 学生)

All employees are considered to be mandated reporters and have the responsibility to report disclosures or observations of sexual misconduct or other forms of discriminatory harassment to the 第九条 Coordinator.

Employees who are exempted from this reporting requirement are:

  • 专业 or pastoral counselors who provide work-related mental health counseling
  • campus advocates who provide confidential victim assistance 
  • 医务人员
  • employees who are otherwise prohibited by law from disclosing information received in the course of providing 专业 care and treatment

It's important to listen and be supportive. You will need to inform the student of your role in reporting disclosures about sexual assault, 约会/家庭暴力 to the 第九条 Coordinator.

Interrupt when necessary before the student discloses details to inform them that there are confidential 资源 on campus to assist the student with 选项, 资源和报告. Provide them with the contact phone number: 630-637-5550 of the Dyson 健康 Center and Campus Advocate.

为学生提供 Sexual Misconduct Resource Guide  (大文本版本n available) by either printing it out or emailing it. The guide covers 资源 on and off campus as well as an overview of the 不歧视政策.

For more information, direct the student to the 第九条 information on this website or on the 第九条中心页面. Both websites contain the policy and information about on- and off-campus 选项, 资源, 权利, and what services are provided through the 第九条 Coordinator. 

Inform the student that they will be contacted by the 第九条 Coordinator who will provide them with information about their 选项, 权利, 和资源.

Submit the report online to the Sexual Misconduct Reporting Form. 视情况而定, you could sit with the student and assist them filling out the form or fill out the form after your meeting with the student.
